Read Genesis 8

Genesis 7 takes us the the point where the rains have come down and the only people who survived were Noah and those with him in the boat.

Chapter 8 picks up with Noah and his family, along with all the animals, in the ark waiting for the end of the flood.

Pretend you are an investigative reporter trying to piece together what happened with Noah during the flood. Create a timeline of the events of the flood.

Consider the two birds that Noah let loose. What kinds were they? Why would one continue to fly back and forth, and the other return to the boat?

When the earth was dry, God spoke to Noah in verses 15-17. What was God’s command to Noah’s family? What was God’s command concerning the animals? Describe what the animals were to do.

After releasing the animals, Noah “built an alter to the Lord” and presented a burnt offering to the Lord. The Lord responded. What did the Lord promise? Why is that significant?

God sometimes gives us tasks to do that seem impossible. Noah received a task like that. But, Noah was obedient.

What task do you feel God is asking of you? Is anything keeping you from being obedient? How can you do what God is asking?

But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and livestock with him in the boat. -v1
